Who we are
A warm welcome to the Chaplain on Board Initiative's Training Academy. We trust you strongly consider your enrolment with us, as we know it will be an enriching experience, bringing about a life-changing encounter for you personally. We believe that the years ahead, is the entrance into a season many Christians dreamt about over many years, “being used by God mightily to bring in a massive harvest into His Kingdom”.
When lockdown occurred in March 2020, due to the spreading of the Covid-19 virus, the whole World came to a literal standstill. Only "essential-services" could operate and freely move around, whilst even the Church, was unable to operate. Sadly, this was the time when humanity desperately needed spiritual, emotional and psychological support, like never before. But the Church, the Body of Christ, who are designed, called and anointed to bring healing, hope and restoration, was tightly locked away!
Fortunately, our Organization, the Chaplain on Board Initiative wre registered as an essential service provider, allowing us freedom of movement. We could move around, reaching those in need and supporting those in crisis and affected by trauma. We started training Christian volunteers in 2012 already, to operate outside of their Church environment and equipped them to be effective in a very practical manner, bringing the reality fo the Gospel to a World in desperation. After Covid-19, we absolutely understood the value of Chaplains within the Community. We clearly see the function of the Church, and the manner in which we need to present ourselves, to prevent us ever, from being "locked-out" again, from our Communities!

The time the Church was left behind.
The Chaplain on Board Initiative's (COBI) aim is to train, equip and place Christian volunteers in every area of our Communities, to be the “Visible Church”, amongst millions, living in a broken World. Many people claim that Church has become obsolete, and I agree, it has lost its purpose, position, and place in our societies. This has happened since we have lost the true definition of Church. It is not a building, nor is it a gathering of people on a specific day. Our purpose is not to preach, but to practice, our mandate is not to gather but to guide, and our position is not to be the centre, but to be amongst. We need to learn to talk less and walk more, ask nothing, and give everything. Through COBI you will be transformed into the person Jesus Christ came to die for. You will become the visible image and likeness of Him without becoming religious.
The Chaplain on Board is a registered non-profit Company, and we specialize in the trainig, equipping and placment of Christian Volunteer Chaplains. Though we are a Christian Organization, we serve humanity without any prejudice, judgement, or expecting anything in return. Our friends fondly refer to us as COBI.
You may complete our training, then apply for accreditation to be ordained as a COBI Chaplain, or you may simply do the Training, without joining COBI.
Chaplains are the bridge between the Church and their Communities. They are the heartbeat of Christ within moments of Crisis.
